Will it ever stop. It's July ! come on ! But with my excellent rain gear I'm almost impervious (I had to look up that word first, I wasn't 100% sure about the spelling/meaning, but I was pleasantly surprised ;-) ) to rain and other weather elements.
Fireworks in the US later today. In ten days in France (ok, it's my birthday, so go ahead if it makes you feel good). Yesterday quite a bit of natural fireworks: thunder. And what kept me busy for most of the night was the result of the get-together with Leo. I must say I'm really impressed. A solid plan. Very interesting projects. Down to earth approach. So I left the cafe yesterday a happy man.
This afternoon I'll have a talk with Maarten at the TUe. Looking forward to that !
We had a jolly good time last Friday at Maudy's house. The food Fran and Maudy prepared was excellent (the oven dish with chicken breast, red sweet peppers, red pesto and creme fraiche). Maudy sent us a very nice picture of Hannah and Sade . It was fun to hear that Maudy had been to many Prince concerts in the past too. She even got to see a few of the famous after parties (!).
Tuesday I heard from Angelo that Leo Sanders was leaving AppTech to form a new company: MI-Partners together with Maarten Steinbuch (TUe) and Bart van den Broek. Interesting ! I sent an email to Leo and called him yesterday. We'll have a cup of coffee coming Tuesday at 5 o'clock at the train station. I've a good feeling about this new endeavour. But let's wait and see what happens.
Yep, pouring down this morning. I put on all my gear, went out and thought: is this all ? but 2 minutes later it really started ... so glad I had my rain trousers, shoe covers and coat on. Just checking the pda version of buienradar.nl and it should be dry here in the west of Holland now. I'm between Breda and Dordrecht and the sun peeped through the clouds for a second.
Yesterday Fran said it would be nice weather today ... I hope that's true for the rest of the day.
Staring out of the window in infinity. The sun is playing its usual tricks with the clouds. On my right is a nice funnel shaped cloud releasing its burden.
Headline at nu.nl: "Majoor Bosshardt overleden." She died at an age of 94 ! Retired from her Salvation Army work in 1978, but stayed active for that organisation till her death. I don't know much about her other the things I read in the news and some things I saw on TV, but I'm touched by this news.
It's a rainy day, lucky so far: 3 out of the 4 bike rides were dry(ish). Hopefully Eindhoven will be a bit dry in an hours time. Yesterday evening Eugene dropped by. Nice seeing him after 2 or more years (can't remember exactly). He now lives in Meerhoven since May. So it's good to have a friend close by.
